About Hans van Gent

Marketing is running through my veins, always hustling to get the most out of life and out of business. I am a  pure optimist with years of digital experience to write on my name. In the past I worked successful on various campaigns and online platforms for some of the big brands of Unilever, Nestlé, the European Parliament, Tourism Flanders, Amnesty International,  WWF and others. Currently I am a Senior Account at DigitasLBi in Belgium.

Next to that I teach (early stage) startups about customer development and applying lean startup mechanics not just in the launch and building of their product but also in marketing and other areas. I can be found coaching and organising at events like the StartupBus, Evolv, StartupWeekend and other places where my expertise is needed. Want to know what other people think about StartupBus and Evolv, have a read at these online reviews:

On this website you can find me writing articles about media and marketing, technology, startups, sometimes a little bit of photography and also some random stuff that keeps popping up in my mind. I would be strange to think I have all the knowledge in the world myself and there are a lot of great people out there. If you want to read more, you can always subscribe to my Flipboard magazine called “Future of Marketing & Entrepreurship” in which I collect some of these great other people out there. If you want to get in contact with me you can always fill in the form below, or contact with me on one of the social networks on which I’m active.

What other people have to say about me:

  • I had the pleasure of being onboard the BeNeLux 2013 as a sponsor, but most importantly as a resident coach and mentor.
Hans ran a very tight ship! His management and organisation was beyond reproach.
But what was more noticeable was the immediate rapport he created with Buspreneurs and others riding the bus. Hans is a true people-person.
Couple that with his fantastic knowledge of technology and business, and he was the ideal candidate to run such an amazing experience like StartupBus.
It’s no wonder our bus produced both the competition winner and the runner-up! I would recommend anyone to work with Hans if you are look for a passionate, dedicated, and knowledgeable IT and Business guru. – Simon Anquetil (CTO apphappening)
  • Hans is one of the most energetic individuals that I have met. He recently led a bus of 23 buspreneurs throughout Europe – not only did he not lose anyone in the numerous pit stops along the way, but had both the winner and one runner up on his bus.
This is a testament to the way that Hans approaches startup life. In the battle for time and finite resources that buspreneurs face, he utilises the motivational skills of a true leader to get teams through this life changing experience.
I look forward to working with Hans at the next opportunity – James Digby (Head of Sales & Communication at AIRTAME)
  • Hans is one of those people you are always glad to welcome at your (startup) events, not only because of his valuable expertise in marketing, the lean startup method and customer development but also for his highly positive “can-do” attitude! I met Hans the first time at Leancamp Cologne in 2013 and he has been supporting several Startup Weekend events as a mentor and ambassador since. The feedback from attendees couldn’t be better, he has great mentoring skills and an ability to inspire others. His strategic visions and ability to see opportunities in challenges are astounding. I have great respect for Hans and his work and hope to collaborate with him more often in the future! – Kathleen Fritzsche (Co-Founder Accelerate Stuttgart)
